Il mio ventiduesimo compleanno...

It's the time of the year again...

Another year has come and gone, and now i'm a year older.. hopefully wiser too? Or maybe "blur"er? =S Either way, i'm aging! Oh no!!! hahaha..

I still remember my 21st birthday like it was just yesterday. I was rushing for my Multimedia project and my group was creating this crazy fantastic computer game which we creatively named it AVIG (A Very Interesting Game) LOLs!!! We actually procrastinated till the very last week, and eventually the last day to start on it cos the guy we asked to "help" us create the game (as in do the whole damn thing for us) fell sick right before the deadline and hasn't touched a single thing!! So 5 of us: Kialing, YenSun, SinYee, Mary and I had to burn extra virgin midnight oil (i heard it was better than regular oil. haha.. lame.) on the eve of my bday to come up with a game we proposed earlier on without even thinking how we're gonna do it. Sweats.. Luckily, some of us were actually paying attention in different parts of the CMM211 class, so that we could combine all our valuable 'berterabuh' knowledge to actually use Macromedia Director. haha.. We started from scratch, spent roughly 24 hours (5pm, 8th - 5pm, 9th Oct) and finally came up with the game. I rmb feeling so depressed on the eve of my 21st bday cos i couldn't count down to it!!! And the sad thing was, no one even knew it was my bday the next day. So i had to celebrate it secretly by myself when the clock struck 12. hahaha... But in the end, it was worth every single minute of it. Our game turned out to be the BEST among our coursemates' (from our point of view and comments from friends la). Cheh... haha. [Promo: If anyone wants to try AVIG, ask from me on msn k? hehe..] Well, after rushing for almost a day, Vince then brought me to Chillis for a very nice dinner. It was good. Ahh... memories. =)

Ok, getting back to topic.

There must be something wrong with the alignment of my stars.. because this year, the same thing happens again! Well, not exactly the SAME thing, but my birthday falls on the same day as my Linguistics mid term!!! Bloody hell.. i had to study all day on the eve of my bday... memorising concepts like spirantization, glottalic egressive mechanism, delayed release, trills, retroflexes, bla bla bla.. Why so cham??? Every year also a busy birthday...

However, this year was different. I get to celebrate my birthday in Canada!!! hehehe.. I'm 15 hours behind Malaysia which is like almost a day later. When the other side of the world was already 9th oct, i was still in 8th oct! So fun!! haha.. Cool huh? That's why, when i was stuffing linguistic concepts into my overloaded brain, many warm wishes from friends back home in Malaysia were posted on Facebook wall and msn windows kept popping up. It was so heart-warming it made me side-tracked from my studies. lol. Plus, when everyone keeps telling me "why bother studying so hard if i'm not transfering credit?" it makes me wanna not study at all.. haha. But somehow i just felt like i should study for this. I really wanna do well in this ridiculously tough paper. Don't ask me why.

While i was studying, Joeyin came and started chatting with me n Christina. Making plans for my birthday. And when gals chat, we don't stop till everything has been told. (Joeyin, you're such a bad influence! =P) We chatted and chatted.. n then i realised, i shd be studying! Barely minutes into the mood.. Joeyin came barging into my room with a tupperware and a card!! It was 12am!! I was surprised. She got me a brownie!! Thanks sayang.. =) It came just at the rite moment, cos i was craving for food from using too much brain power. haha.. My housemates came into my room, and we chatted more! It felt so great.

After all the little commotion in my room subsided, i continued to study till 4.30am because i panicked when i realised i have no idea what my coursemates were discussing about on the class discussion board. (Note to self: NEVER EVER look at the board before a test. Those ppl will mess with your mind!!) Then 9.30am came, it was time for the test. The paper wasn't that hard.. yet wasn't that easy. Anyhow i managed to finished every question. And rite now, as long as i pass i'm happy. After the paper, i happily skipped back home. I can now celebrate my 22nd in Canada!!! YAYS!!!

For dinner, we had hotpot (a.k.a. steamboat) as we watched Casablanca! Cold weather, hotpot, classic movie.. it was the perfect combo! We made hotpot with our ex-occupant's left behind slow cooker - which never brings the water to a boil - so we had to cook the soup separately before pouring into the big slow cooker. Altho it was lot of work, it was fun and simply great!! And after dinner, we went out to Alma to a dessert shop called True Confections (don't u just love the name?). It was a famous shop apparently, and when we got there, it was almost fulll and with good reason. The cakes were truly marvelous! I had chocolate caramel pecan CHEESECAKE and it was heaven!!! Sinfully delicious... *drools*.

In conclusion, my 22nd birthday was not double troubled but it was double fun!!! I can now proudly say i have celebrated the BEST birthday ever!!! Thank you all for everything! *hugs n kisses*
